Desde 1989, a Internet progrediu de sites só de leitura para o ambiente ultra inteligente e aberto de hoje. A Web 4.0. fornece ligações entre humanos e máquinas para criar dados interativos para a nova Internet simbiótica. O uso da Web 4.0 nas atividades do dia-a-dia ajuda a simbiose entre humanos e máquinas. Com a utilização de dados inteligentes, as realidades virtuais estão a tornar-se cada vez mais comuns.
